USES Armodafinil can reduce extreme sleepiness caused by narcolepsy or other sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep disorder (obstructive sleeping apnea) and periods of stopped breathing while asleep. Armodafinil can also be used to keep you awake at work if your work schedule prevents you from sleeping normally (shift work sleep disorder). Armodafinil does not take the place of getting enough sleep. It should not be used to treat tiredness or hold off sleep in people who do not have a sleep disorder. It is not known how armodafinil works to keep you awake. It is thought to work by affecting certain substances in the brain that control the sleep/wake cycle. SIDE EFFECTS You may experience headaches, nausea, dryness of the mouth, dizziness, dryness of the stomach, dryness of the lips, nervousness , dizziness or difficulty sleeping.
